Do you really need a website?

Did you know that 88% or better of all consumers research a product or service online before going to a physical location to buy?  This includes all those who don’t visit an actual location other than online, such as buying at Amazon or another company website, like Target, Costco, NAPA Auto Parts, etc., Indeed, it is estimated that there are 100 Billion web searches for products or information every month.  That’s Billion, with a ‘B’, every month!  That even in your own neck of the woods, there are countless people looking up everything from directions to somewhere, phone numbers (the internet is the new phone book), pricing, and one of the most basic reasons:  Where do I find the product or service they are looking to buy?

It’s important that your company is there when the searches for a product or service is happening, in your area, perhaps right now.  The people searching for your business category are pre-qualified buyers!  They are demonstrating this by the fact they are searching for your product or service.  The best 24/7 sales person you can have is a mobile friendly (that’s mandatory) website.  You can also create an app, but that’s another topic altogether.  If you don’t have a website then you’re at a distinct disadvantage against your competitors.  Now, if you’re thinking “Big news, everyone has a website, what are you talking about?”  Wrong.  Everyone doesn’t.  According to an online article at by Joseph Pisani, more than half, that’s more than 50% of all small businesses don’t have a website.  Many don’t want one and the number one reason they don’t is they don’t want to grow any larger.  Seriously, some folks prefer to remain roughly their same size.  If you are not one of those people, you need to have a website that can and will, work for you.
